Twist Rib Campus Scarf

I knit this scarf for Blee's birthday. She attends Central Michigan University, hence the maroon and gold. The scarf is ribbed in worsted weight yarn, so it's pretty thick. Good for walking to class during the winter!

The twist stitch that I used to make this scarf makes the ribs look almost braided.

Yarn
I Love This Yarn (Hobby Lobby's brand) in Aubergine and Yellow

Needles
Size 8, 5mm

Pattern
Cast on 30 stitches.
Row 1: K2, [T2, K2] to end of row.
Row 2: T2, [K2, T2] to end of row.
Repeat two rows until scarf is desired length.

Notes
The twist (T) stitch is made as follows. Bring yarn forward as if to purl. Bring the right needle through the back loop from back to front, crossing the right needle in front of the left. Wrap yarn clockwise around the needle and pull through.

The scarf is made using alternating color blocks, beginning and ending with the main color. Each color block is 30 rows in length. My scarf consists of six maroon blocks and five gold blocks, and it measures 61.5 inches long by 3.75 inches wide.
