Bungalow 312 Sock Club

As you know from my previous post, I follow the Yarn Harlot on a regular basis. This year she had the brilliant idea to start her own self-imposed sock club. Having fallen victim to the "I really, really NEED that skein of sock yarn" bug myself, I can safely say that a good chunk of my stash is sock yarn. Recent inventory and reorganization of the stash cupboard confirm this.

So, without further ado, I announce the Bungalow 312 Sock Club. Each month, I shall attempt to knit a pair of socks that is currently in my Ravelry queue. Rather than random choice, I shall be choosing based on a Ravelry KAL, most likely the Sock Knitters Anonymous Sockdown! challenges or the Solid Socks KAL. Some months, particularly those when the KALs don't match anything in my queue, I will use to finish WIPs. A quick peek at my project page will reveal that I have several single socks knit. I'm not telling how many.

Now I announce the July sock...

This is Tesserae by Anne Hanson. Anne Hanson is this month's designer for the Sock Knitters Anonymous Sockdown! challenge. I'm using ThreadBear Fiber Arts Rob's Hand-Dyed Sock in Faded Jeans. At first I thought that the pattern stitch was being lost because of too much variegation in the yarn, but I sort of like the wavy effect the pattern and yarn are making, so I'm forging ahead.

Guess who these are for? Guess who has a birthday coming up in September?

That yarn is beautiful and really works well with that pattern-great pairing.

You have inspired me, as usual. My family loves socks more than anything else I can knit.

I have missed seeing you. Do you still go to Threadbear on Fridays?
