There's something in the water where I work that is causing people to get pregnant. Therefore, another baby knit:
Izzy
Pattern: Sadie by Susan Dittrich
Yarn: Cascade Sierra in Cameo
Needles: Size 7, 4.5 mm
Ravel it!
This little sundress is pretty cute, especially if you knit the stripey version that the pattern calls for. I thought about it, but then decided to knit a solid version and a matching sunhat instead. The pattern comes in a few different sizes. I made the 17-inch chest size after consulting this chest size chart for babies. I figured since the chart said that a 6-12 month average size is 16 inches and a 12-18 month average size is 18 inches, the 17-inch size would be good for a 9-12 month old. Boy, was I wrong! We'll be lucky if Little Isabelle doesn't outgrow this dress by the summer!
Izzy Hat
Pattern: Emily Hat by J.L. Fleckenstein
Yarn: Cascade Sierra in Cameo
Needles: Size 6, 4.0 mm and size 7, 4.5 mm
Ravel it!
The hat, on the other hand, is most definitely knit for a baby that is much older. It's way too big for her right now, as you can see.
Aren't those cheeks the best?
The hat was a quick, easy knit, although I suspect that the instructions for the brim are incorrect. Something wasn't making the seed stitch look right, so I fudged it.
I liked using the Cascade Sierra, although as usual, cotton is tough on the hands. I was happy to get back to knitting with wool after this project!

Oh how sweet does that little girl look in your pretty handknits!
Love the dress and hat. I don't think the hat is too large--you want it to shade her eyes and face. She looks adorable anyway.
I like the fit also and yes, those cheeks are adorable.
My daughter is 13 and she still has them. They get kissed alot too.
OMG...that baby is absolutely adorable!!! I want to kiss those cheeks and tickle that extra chin:-) I'll bet she's got thunder-thighs to match!
Oh. The knitting is great, too.
