Alphabet Soup Sunday #3

Now that my Avery cowl is blocked and photographed*, I can't imagine that I thought about ripping it back. When I cast off, I thought that perhaps I had mismatched yarn and pattern, that the textured stitch pattern really needed a true solid rather than a semi-solid.

What was I thinking? It is beautiful.

Pattern: Avery by Melissa LaBarre
Yarn: The Plucky Knitter Superwash Merino Worsted in Lindsey's Wallpaper
Needles: Size 9, 5.5 mm

Now on to my B project. I have really been tossing around a few possibilities. At first I thought I would do the Big Herringbone Cowl by Purl Bee, but another cowl didn't seem to fit the bill after the Avery, and I would like to finish my Guernsey Wrap sometime soon. Then I thought about the Birdcage Mittens by Eli Stubenrauch using the Dream in Color Classy that I was going to use last month to make a pair of selbu mittens. But I've been doing quite a bit of stranded knitting for Christmas gifts, so doing one more stranded project didn't seem to fit the bill, either.

So I've finally settled on Kirsten Kapur's Breathe Deep. According to several Ravelers, the pattern knits quite quickly. Just what I need amidst all this Christmas knitting!

*Many thanks to Ms. Anyssa for her mad photography skillz, and for Mother Nature for granting us a sunny weekend!
