Poll—Mitten Color

I'm taking my first stranded knitting class next Sunday. The project is Nancy McGlynn's Warm Heart Mittens. I went to my LYS last week to buy the yarn.


My winter coat is black, so my original idea was to make the mittens in very classic colors: black, white, gray, and red. Now I'm not sure about the red. I'm taking a Selbuvotter class the first weekend in November and I'm afraid I'll end up with too many mittens in these traditional colors.
