Baby Mania, Take Three

Emily's Sweater is finished. Buttons sewn on, and gift received.

Pattern: Baby Sweater on Two Needles by Elizabeth Zimmerman
Source: Knitter's Almanac
Yarn: Dream in Color Classy in Beach Fog
Needles: Size 7, 4.5 mm
Ravel it!

Oh, yes. Yet another February Baby Sweater has come into the world. I am sure mine is not the prettiest or most finely knit, but I'm fairly pleased with it.

I really like the way the purple buttons make the purple in the yarn stand out.

I have to say, however, that Elizabeth Zimmerman's "pithy" directions annoyed me. Is that knitter's sacrilege? Possibly. But the fact of the matter is that she doesn't mention even mention buttonholes until the yoke has already been knit. Yeah. You see the problem.

Dream in Color Classy. Yum yum. Perhaps my favorite worsted weight yarn. Love the colors. Love that it's superwash. A bit of advice when knitting with it, though... see the sleeves? See how they are a bit more purple than the rest of the sweater? That's why they tell you to alternate skeins while knitting. Some of us ignore those directions, and this is the result.

My Multnomah is off the needles, but it needs a good blocking before it can come out to play. It probably won't make an appearance here until the weekend.

This is such a darling little sweater. You've inspired me to knit some more baby gifts that aren't blankets.

Wonderful! I think some people do have a bit of a problem with EZ's instructions as I am sure I had to read it a few times before I got the pattern right too.
