Crotchety and Crochety

So, no posts since May 10. I know, I know. It was the end of the school year, and I've been quite crotchety lately. Things are looking up now that I'm out, but the past few weeks have been pretty hellacious and the school year couldn't get over fast enough. Still love teaching, still love most of my students (well, I love all of them but I didn't like some of them towards the end), but I don't love all the craptastic malarkey that comes with working in the public sector right now. It's going to be very hard for me to vote this fall.

So what's a girl to do when she's crotchety? Learn to be crochety.

Making a huge granny square is very Zen.

I took an introduction to crochet class at ThreadBear at the beginning of May. And fairly soon thereafter, I started my first "real" crochet project.

Yes. It's another blanket. I'm using Attic24's hexagon tutorial. Such fun, but I need another blanket project like a hole in the head. Still, after seeing all the hexagonal goodness on Ravelry, I couldn't resist!

Glad to see you back and crocheting now that school's out. I'm sure it was a rough couple of weeks. Of course I don't have exams to papers to grade. Just the crazy kids. I can't wait to see how your blanket turns out. I really like the color choices.

Ah that explains my recent desires to crochet lately. I have been very crotchety! :)
